LIVING IN KENYA
Never having been in Kenya, one often has a distorted view of the entire "black continent." But Africa is not Kenya and Kenya is not Africa. A visit to the Medical Center of Mombasa surprises: Their medical standard is absolutely comparable to the one in Europe. The supermarkets range of goods is excellent and always fresh. Only: Prices differ dramatically from the contents of a (German) shopping basket.
Living in Kenya also means dealing with the population and the many tribes and respecting the people. If you hire a cook or gardener, you are investing about 100 Euros per month. And a trained nurse receives a monthly pay on which you could live for only one day in a nursing home in munich.
The climate is very pleasant year-round . There are no tropical storms or floods. Especially the elder appreciate the minimal variations in temperature. And while others are ordering expensive heating oil in Germany, you are still sitting out on your own terrace till late in the evening at Diani Beach.
